'I made sure you'll be safe.'

"Bobby you don't have time. They've found me." Eddy croaked into the small mic, slumping down behind his computer. 
"I don't care, Eddy. I'm on my way, okay--" 
"No. Finish the mission." Eddy's fingers flew across the keyboard, the many screens before him blacking out as he erased their contents with practiced ease. He didn't have time for Bobby to come- they were going to be here within a matter of seconds. As if by chance, the soft sound of a helicopter's blades beating against the wind passed his window and he ducked down. 
"I'm coming whether you like it or not, Eddy so shut up!" Bobby barked into his own mic, the earpiece all but screaming the message into Eddy's own drooped ears as he was hurled back from he window by an explosive force. Glass shattered around him and he gasped, sputtering a bit as he fumbled for the rectangular remote, holding it tightly in one hand. 
"Eddy?" Bobby screeched to him, pausing at the sound "Eddy what was that?" 
"N-Nothing-- Nothing they-- Bobby." Eddy clenched his jaw, slumping down onto the ground as he felt a wet heat begin to seep through his shirt. "They won't get to you, alright? I've destroyed everything." He explained, listening to the fast paced breathing on the other side of the headset. 
"You don't need to- I'm going to get there alright? You sit put, and I'll be there in a minute." Bobby began to sprint, not picking up on the strain of Eddy's voice as he found the remote, thumb hovering over the crimson button, now smeared with burgundy blood. 
"They won't get to you- they won't find you. C-Call Jonas-- g-get him to pull up the recovery files, alright?" Eddy breathed, squeezing his eyes shut as he heard a door down the motel hall fall in. "You'll be fine. I promise. Stay safe, yeah?" 
"What are you talking about Eddy you're going to be fine- You're talking like we're never gonna see each other again!" Bobby let out a nervous laugh, not slowing his pace.
"Just promise me you'll stay safe." He gripped the remote tighter. 
"Yeah okay- I promise- but Eddy I--" The door flew in, and Eddy looked up, eyes dark and he grinned weakly, mashing down the button. 
The connection cut out and an explosion suddenly rocked the building, and it made Bobby freeze where he stood. 
"Eddy? Edward?" He shrieked, ripping out the earpiece as he rounded the corner to see the crumbling remains of their hotel falling to dust.

Long story short, the "good guys" or whoever figure out who Bobby is and where he's staying so they're going to find out and then like they find Eddy and they're trying to stop them obv so 
Eddy dies trying to destroy everything they could've gotten on Bobby 
so that his pal won't have to go to jail or get caught or anything
